What Does Seborrheic Keratosis Look Like?

Seborrheic Keratosis is a skin condition that affects many people. It is displayed by an overgrowth of the keratin on the victim’s skin. Keratin can further be described as a rough patch of skin that forms as a result of the protein in the epidermis that becomes insoluble and very hard.

Seborrheic Keratosis is also referred to as a seborrheic verruca or senile wart. It is worth noting that this condition is not cancerous and thus it should not worry the victim too much.  The condition can emanate from age spots and keratinocytes. The ailment becomes more prominent with age. The images do not have a consistent shade but vary from the lighter brown tan to a black hue. The seborrheic keratosis images take on oval or round shape, can be raised or appear flat on the skin. The dimensions will vary with most being approximately 2.5cm. They closely look like the warts with the difference being that they do originate from viruses. These images can further resemble the melanoma type of skin cancer and normally affect the upper layers of the epidermis.

In the situation that one has been diagnosed with the ailment early enough, he or she should be able to be advised on the various forms of treatment that can be used. Most of the remedies available are known to be effective enough and work rather fast. It is advisable to seek the opinion of your doctor who will recommend the most appropriate forms of treatment.

The seborrheic Keratosis images are very unpleasing to the eye which makes most of the victims very uncomfortable with their appearance. This condition has a big blow on people who are very keen on their appearance.

The seborrheic keratosis images are very unattractive but it is worth pointing out that there are not painful. They do not cause irritation which makes the effect mostly psychological. These images are malignant and therefore do not pose a threat to your life. They can very easily be controlled or treated.  Laser treatment is costly but it happens to be the most effective form of remedy for this condition.  Laser focuses on the emanation of the abnormal cells in the body.
