The lemon sugar scrub is one of the natural home remedies for treating Seborrheic Keratosis and other skin ailments as well as keeping your skin soft and smooth. The process of making the solution is easy because it involves use of available materials. It is better to use compared to the other chemical treatments which may burn out your skin if mishandled and the costly procedures carried out in the hospital.

Various ways to make the lemon sugar scrub:

  1. Ingredients:
  • 2, 1/2 cups of sugar.
  • 4 teaspoons lemon juice.
  • 1/2 cup sweet almond oil.
  • 4 tablespoons runny honey, and
  • 4 drops of lemon essential oil.

Procedure: Combine the sweet almond oil and the sugar in a large bowl and stir the mixture well. Add the lemon juice and stir again. Finally, add the honey and lemon essential oil and stir again to mix and obtain a grainy paste. To use, massage on to your seborrheic keratosis, extremities first, in circular motions to exfoliate and cleanse.

  1. Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup grated lemon peel.
  • A container.
  • 1 cup grape seed oil or you can also use sweet almond or olive oil.
  • A fork.
  • 1/4 cup white or brown sugar.
  • Small mixing bowl.
  • Lemon zester or cheese grater, and
  • An Airtight container.

Procedure: Use a zester or the smallest grater size on your cheese grater and zest the lemon peel. Combine the sugar and the grated lemon peel in a bowl so that that peel is evenly distributed in the mixture. Once the dry ingredients are thoroughly mixed, add the oil and use the fork or your hands to mix the sugar and the oil until the sugar is completely saturated and set the mixture aside. Let the mixture stay for about thirty minutes and then check to ensure that you added enough oil. The oil will have separated with the sugar such that the oil is on top and the sugar at the bottom. The layer of oil should be about half an inch so if it less than that, add more oil and mix again. Put the mixture in an airtight container and let it stay. To use, gently rub the mixture over damp skin in the area of seborrheic keratosis, in a circular motion, rinse with warm water and then pat dry.

After you are through with the application you can take a bath or a shower to wash away the excess oil from your skin. Keep the mixtures at room temperature and stir well before any application. The mixtures can stay for several weeks if they are kept in an airtight container and if fresh ingredients are used.
