Multiple treatment sessions are usually required. Treatment results may take between 4 to 6 weeks and perfect results cannot be guaranteed. The area to be treated must not be sun tanned and sun exposure must be avoided for 4 weeks prior to and post treatment.

Anaesthetic cream will be applied for 30 minutes to the areas before treatment begins. You should expect a sunburn sensation after treatment, for which you should apply ice pack or take pain killers.

Hyperpigmentation may occur if patients have sun exposure within 4 weeks of treatment. This is avoidable with the use of sunscreens.

Hypopigmentation can occur but is rare.
